Malcolm Ausden is a Senior Ecologist at the RSPB, the UK and Europe's largest wildlife conservation charity, where he advises on the management of their network of 200 reserves and oversees monitoring on them. He is a particularly keen birder, moth enthusiast and botanist, and is interested in all types of natural history. Almost a data sheet.

This book is basically data sheet of an IBM Serdes IP. Many pages are filled with register
control bits of this Serdes IP which add no value. If you are one of the users of this IP
then this book may serve you a purpose. Coverage of Serdes operation is shallow and cursory.
Drawings are of poor quality and it comes with Springer price tag.

Do not waste your money on this book, The title is complete misleading. as the other reviewer mentioned it is a springer edition of a IBM SerDes spec sheet. I want my money back.

Final Chapter

Unforgettable is the final book in Melody Grace’s Beachwood Bay series and is the great send-off for these most loved books. This book is about figuring out what is important and making the changes to find happiness in all the facets of one’s life.
We were introduced to Noelle Olsen and Ash Callahan in an amazing fashion in Unmasked. There we got to see a side to both that the world didn’t necessarily get to see. Or hear them tell each other, secrets that stayed locked away in their heads and hearts. Unmasked was the fairy dust and Unforgettable is its aftermath, steeped in cold, hard reality.
I loved Unforgettable because it gathered all the magic in Unmasked and started making Noelle & Ash’s wishes come true, but not necessarily the way they might have hoped. It’s here that we see what these two are made of and what they do when life throws them lemons — in Noelle’s case, she bakes a lemon pound cake or 20.
Beachwood Bay has not only been about romance, but also families, friends and community. In Unforgettable, they are an all of the above proposition. We get to see all of these things in action during the course of the story and you realize just how important they are to not only the story, but also the series.
Noelle becomes even more of favorite character in Unforgettable. She has a spirit and a sense of wonder that is contagious. She made me smile and tear up a little bit.
Ash was every bit of an enigma. As the oldest in his family, his obligations were massive and he never felt like he could let up – even after the money was made. I loved him though – he was a good guy, but needed to reprioritize as much as the next guy or girl. But his motivation came from a place of real love and that was enough for me.
Unforgettable was a fabulous book and while I am sad the Beachwood Bay series is ending, I love that Melody Grace was true to her characters in so many ways. If you haven’t read this series, you should absolutely #OCTB each book and enjoy!!!

We all have the books that leave us yearning and with a heart so full of love. Unforgettable; the final Beachwood Bay series novel left me in awe and full of all sorts of emotions. I remember first reading Unbroken (Beachwood Bay #1) way back in 2013, which feels like forever ago I might add and thinking this is a book I will treasure forever and since then every single book in the series has held my heart. Unforgettable is Ash and Noelle’s story, told in a dual perspective full-length novel that incorporates everything I love about Melody Grace’s writing and the passion of romance her scripture of voice brings forward.

It all begins with a night of forgetting the world and finding passion in a strangers arms with lust and sensual depths unbeknown that will lead to recoil and rumblings of heart. A night that was meant to be once off leads to more when tragedy burrows it’s hole and questions of life play hard on Noelle leading her to race to a different pace and to uphold grandmothers B&B in Beachwood Bay. As I close the chapter on the Beachwood Bay series that Melody Grace has put so much heart, blood, tears and emotion into; it isn’t without the epilogue that was basically a tear-fest of me crying. I loved everything about the concluding chapter of the Beachwood Bay series with heart that hits a chord and being able to relate to, to the sensual passion of a connection and bond of all these characters I will forever remember. For the fans of the Beachwood Bay series and Melody Grace Unforgettable doesn’t disappoint and will leave you with all the feelings.

WOW, JUST WOW !!

This book, was just W O W, Melody Grace knows how to bring a book to life, give characters the needed emotions that make them feel so very real. I absolutely adored this book, being the end of the series , Melody knocked this out the park.... I want to make sure some know before reading, if you haven't read the Callahan part of the series, then you should before you read this one.
Since Uninhibited, we have got to know the Callahan family, and it's been so fun getting to see each one find the one they love, some fighting it every step of the way. So when it's Ash turn, he tries to run, but you can't run forever. Ash, is so complex to understand and, that's why I love how Melody Grace let us get to know him a little in some of the books, I love the advise in Unwritten, that he give to Blake, but we got a peek at the vulnerability in Ash. The man Ash is., and the man that is to scared to put his heart out there again..
Then we meet Noelle Olsen, a free spirit, but she is smart and isn't afraid to take a chance. I really loved her character, being strong, but also she isn't afraid of how she feels or what she wants. Although Ash and Noelle would seem an unlikely couple, but as you read you can see how prefect they would be.
As I read the last in t he series, I let some wonderful memories of the books of this series, I let tears flow just remembering the first book, when Emerson meets Juliet, and sparks fly off that page!!! I am in AWE of the talented way Melody gave so much life into each character, and the creative way of draw us readers into an AWESOME story. I have loved and enjoyed this series from book one Untouched, and each one just kept getting better..

I totally recommend this to all that loves reading great romance books with some really HOTT STEAMY moments!! Recommended to all that are 18 and older!!

Korean-born German philosopher Byung-Chul Han teaches philosophy and cultural studies at Berlin's University of the Arts (UdK). In the past few years, his provocative essays have been translated into numerous languages, and he has become one of the most widely read philosophers in Europe and beyond. This Is Very Opaque!

I came across Byung-Chul Han's ideas in a talk by the famous piano maestro, Daniel Barenboim. As of May 2016, Han's ideas are unavailable in English except in the two translations by Stanford University Press.

Han's take on The Burnout Society and The Transparency Society are very important and needs to be read in English.

Stanford University Press, surely has the good judgement to make these available, but the translation is abysmally bad.

Han presents his ideas in concise volumes. The English translations are précis, but not precise. They are pedantic and needlessly written in a verbose and prolix text. It defeats the dissemination of Han's crucial concepts.

This has been a huge disappointment. I would recommend the present translation as the only source of Han's ideas (unless you know German), but sincerely hope that either Stanford University Press or another varsity publisher, commissions a fresh translation.

This translation deserves the shredder.

Han is amazing--he combines astute critiques of contemporary society with philosophy and theory in a striking manner. This book focuses on how we auto-exploit ourselves: in our media-encouraged mania to publicize, affirm, be present, be seen, we willingly give away so much of what used to be private to a corporate entity that does not have our best interests at heart.

As always with Han, part of what you take from the book is your own engagement with his aphoristic, at times dense, text (and thanks to Stanford for these excellent translations). But what you put into reading will pay big dividends.

Not easy reading, but valuable

As usual, Byung-Chul Han brief books (this one is barely 45 pages long) are challenging. Not only the amount of academic references quoted and commented, but his particular insight uncovering a not always pleasant side of common assumptions. Those wanting to expand their understanding of the not so convenient 'benefits' of contemporary life (transparency, intimacy, acceleration...) will find this vork very useful. I strongly advise to read The Burnout Society first, it will help the reader to better grasp some of this philosophers criticism.

STUNNING!

In this breathtaking spy thriller, Jake Maroc, a Chinese agent trained in various martial arts working for a clandestine US Government organisation called The Quarry, sets out to find the killers of his wife and stumbles across a Japanese Yakuza clan run by his enemy Nichiren, intent on taking over a valuable business in Hong Kong, while in Russia, the KGB shows an interest in the same project. So Maroc, ostracised by the US, seeks help from anyone possible, even the 14K Triads! The action scenes, involving different styles of martial arts and the latest in firearms are first-rate, the locations, especially Hong Kong, are well-researched and the plot is so elaborate and engaging that you can't see the meaning until the final pages, which keeps you guessing. One of Lustbader's very best!

The Best of Lustbader

Among the many novels that Lustbader has written, I appreciated this one the most. In typical Asian exoticism, Lustbader delivers well with this novel. There is a great deal of intrigue as the three main characters of the story are destined to encounter one another through intricate web of espionage and suspense involving the emergence of China as a modern power. In addition to the attack and counter-attacks of the two main protagonists in the story is the classic game of strategy Go or Weiqi as it is called among the Chinese. I found that Lustbaders use of the game was well placed and as it served as a metaphor for the combat which took place throughout the novel. The cultural depth which Lustbader writes is impressive indeed. He writes with one who has done his research especially in the area of Asian martial arts and eastern philosophy.

The book has several sexually graphic accounts and if one does not care for such content the book should be avoided or at least a skipping over of such passages is needed.

This was the second of the "9" Eric Lustbader books that I read , the first being The Kaisho. Yeah, I'm hooked. In this novel Eric captures the reader with this thought provoking journey of historic place and time, with the" Jian" Shi Zilin, wise, shrewd and crafty, who is forced to sacrifies his beloved family all for the good of his country China. John Wooden - impressive Coach & Philosopher & Leader and Teacher - Honest Man

John WOODEN is one of the most impressive US Coaches ever. Maybe He was the MOST IMPRESSIVE COACH in a history of US SPORT (not only basketball). He won 11 NCCA titles, 10 in a row. His career's % of winning games was more than 80%. He was also good basketball player ("Purdue University") and very good student. He refused proposal to become a profi player and decided to become a high school teacher. This relatively short book but very well telling. Coach Wooden showed His philosophy of being a leader, teacher and credible person. This is very universal attitude towards leadership, other people and own duties. We can find also PYRAMIDE of SUCCESS, a therotic construct of Wooden's coaching philosophy which was inspiring for Pat Riley and Phil Jackson. This is very deep, inspiring and interesting book not only for basketball coaches/players but also for everybody who works with a people...

I purchased this book for someone else. They really got a lot out of it, as I was hoping they would. While Coach Wooden was a great basketball coach, above that he was an even better leader. His principles are something that MANY of todays leaders in business and public life could learn a lot from to make the world a better place.

A great book about a great man. His players played one way, his way. Not sire he could coach today's athletes.

He was a no nonsense coach without the yelling of Bobby Knight.

Broke things down to their basic elements and you perfected each step before moving on.

Enjoyed this book about the Tarahumara culture in 1970's as I was hiking this region at the time. The locals used Corn to make Beer (no bottling) and partied annually at each Ranchita to get the corn crop planted (25% of corn used to make beer for planting parties, baptism, cures, etc.) Much other reports on these short-fast-mostlyVeggie runners of the trails in Copper Canyon. We traded plastic drop clothes (roofs) for bear-grass baskets. Very friendly people to backpackers at that time. Hike to hot springs and below was TERRIBLE (waterfalls, etc). So get a NEW hiking book on this area before you go.

Review: Second Book of Practical Studies for Trombone by Gerald Bordner

The author of this book of progressive and easy studies for trombone is GERALD BORDNER. Amazon has spelled his first name wrong in their heading, making it impossible to find this book from within Amazon unless you correctly guess the name. I had to find this book by doing a google search of "Gerald Bordner." Then, google showed it was available on Amazon (!) and a link brought me here to buy it.

I own book one by GeraLd Bordner - purchased from Amazon - and it is great. Most studies for beginners are more difficult than they should be. These two books are not. Both books are progressive - starting from most easy to more difficult. I recommend these for trombone teachers and their students. They are not intended to teach trombone playing, but if one knows the essentials, such as slide positions and embouchure, and where the notes are in easy keys, a student who has been working hard for a half year can use these, without the aid of a teacher.

I am a music teacher, licensed since 1980 in Massachusetts and Rhode Island to teach students in K-12. My background is as a flute, recorder, and saxophone player, now recently playing trombone (sackbut). Off and on I play trumpet too, etc. I had the usual courses in college preparing me to teach, among other things, brass, woodwinds, strings, and percussion.

Great Product

I teach euphonium and trombone lessons, and I use this book on my beginners and for my euphoniums switching to bass clef. It is a great tool for the beginner, or for someone wanting to work on sight reading. There is a second book, and it is awesome too! I love this series and highly recommend them!
